KING REACHES WINDSOR.
JOURNEY BORNE WELL.
GREAT PUBLIC ENTHUSIASM.
DELIGHTED CROWDS ON ROUTE. Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON, May 15. The public enthusiasm aroused by the King's journey from Bognor to Windsor continued all along the route. The Royal motor-car was slowed down at every village so that the King might return the greetings of the inhabitants. The Mayor of Windsor, Lieutenant* General S. Wright, the local authorities and 3000 schoolboys, including Etonians, welcomed Their Majesties as they enteied the castle. Hospital nurses strewed rose petals along the street. A British oflicial wireless message says the extremely satisfactory progress made by the King toward health in the bracing air of the south coast was apparent when His Majesty, accompanied by the Queen, passed through cheering crowds in the streets of Bognor and bade farewell to the civic authorities. The King was obviously much moved by the popular demonstration he witnessed of the interest in his welfare and the delight at his recovery. It was officially stated at Windsor Castle this afternoon that the King had borne the journey well and showed no signs of fatigue. . Their Majesties will spend about three and a-half weeks quietly at the Castle. Usually when the Court is at Windsor there is much entertaining, but during the King's present stay this will be modi-, fied on the advice of His Majesty's doctors.
It is definitely stated that the King will not attend the Ascot race meeting, which is one of the chief social events of the season, and takes place in the middle of June. It is expected that His Majesty will have gone to Sandringham before then.
