At the Newmarket meeting to-day tho following was the result of tho leading event: — THE NEWMARKET STAKES. Of 130 each, with £IOOO added; for three-year-olds, colts 0.0. fillies and geldings, 8.11, li miles. HUNTER'S MOON, Lord Derby's b c. by Hurry On—Selene, 9.0 .. .. 1 MR. JINKS, Major McCalmont's rn c, by Tetratcma —False Piety, 9.0 .. 2 MIDLOTHIAN, Lord liosebery's b c, i'.O 3 Seven started. In an exciting finish Hunter's Moon won by a short head. Mr. Jinks won tho Two Thousand Guineas, run at Newmarket last week. Hunter's Moon is engaged in tho Derby.
