GRAMMAR SCHOOL BALL.

MOUNT ALBERT OLD BOYS. Decorated in the well-known Grammar School colours of blue and gold, tho Mount Albert Grammar School Hall presented a gay and brilliant scene last evening, when the fifth annual ball was held. The dance committee consisted entirely of men, and that their efforts to make the ball a succoss had been effective was shown by the very large number of people who were present. Streamers of blue and gold were looped from the walls and met in the centre of the ceiling, to form a large basket-shaped group of streamers. The stage at one end of the hall was occupied by the orchestra, and iri front of this were banners in alternate shades of blue and gold, eacli inscribed with the golden lion. Streamers in the school colours were again used with effect to form a huge fan in the centre of the stage and at each corner of this were arranged graceful ferns. Among those who were present were: — Mrs. F. W. Gamble, who wore a frock of orchid-mauve crepe de chine, embroidered with crystal beads; Mrs. G. W. Mcßride, black satin frock inset with silver lace; Mrs. J. H. Kinnear, black georgette with 01 black and jade-green figured shawl; Mrs. W. Ward-Baker, gold lame frock with a hem of black georgette ; Mrs. G. S. Coldham, gold lamo frock with an overskirt of tullo; Miss Joyce Ilotherham, wistariamauve shot taffeta with a yoke and hem of shell pink tulle; Miss Hodge, almond green georgette; Miss Mary Upton, black taffeta with a hem of black lace; Miss Baildon, royal blue embossed chenille georgette; Miss Burcham, lemon georgette; Miss M. Stone, leaf green crepe dc chino with a scalloped frilled hem; Miss Gillies, powder blue chiffon with a cream scalloped hem; Miss D. Anderson, lemon georgette with a tiered skirt; Miss B. Graham, black chiffon velvet embroidered with diamante; Miss Underwood, cameopink georgette with an uneven hem; Miss Ilbert, shell-pink lace frock; Miss Huband, lacquer-red crepe fleuri bodice with an overskirt of ficelle lace; Miss D. Woods, hyacinth-blue taffeta; Miss M. McFherson, apricot georgette apphqued with velvet flowers; Miss Gates, seogegreen chiffon velvet and georgette; Miss Munro. jade-green georgette; Miss Mclaughlin,- lemon georgette inset with gold lace- Miss E.
