FAREWELL PARTY.
A very pleasant afternoon was spent on the' Ponsonby Croquet Club's lawns on Tuesday afteniooin, tho members holding a farewell party to mark tho close of the season. Progressive croquet was played, and the prizes, which were donated by Mrs. C. E. Hardley, were won as follows:—A grado, Mcsdames Green, Gallaher and Torrance; B grade, Mcsdames Lyon, ITodge and Falconer. Afternoon lea was provided by the members. Miss Brown, president, on behalf of tho latter, thanked Mrs. Hardley for the prizes.
