GARGOYLE SOCIAL CLUB.
The Gargoyle Social Club, compusing members of the staff of the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, held its. first social for the year in the Amateur Operatic Hall last evening. Decorated with blue and orange streamers which were looped across the ceiling and covered the lights, and with clusters of multicoloured balloons which were suspended at intervals, the hall presented a gay and colourful scene, to which the pretty frocks of the dancers fully added their share. Very enjoyable items were given during the evening, these comprising songs by Mrs. Bowman, Miss Distin Strange, Mr. and Mrs. Asquith. and a recitation by little Joy Asquith. Among those who were present were Miss C. Ashwin. Miss Chubb and Miss Watt (members of the committee), Mrs. Hemstreet, (America), Mrs. P. J. Perry, Mrs. A. F. S'adgrove, Mrs. A. C. Yorke, Mrs. A. D. Maxwell, Mrs. T. J. Clench, Mrs. L. W. McGregor, Mrs. Norman Fraser, Mrs. H. J. Langley, Mrs. Bowman, Mrs. S. W. Morley, Miss D. Atherton, Miss D. Strange, Miss Parker. Miss Gordon. Miss Cuthbertson, Miss Holloway, Miss Vail, Miss Locke and Miss Nicholson.
