IDENTITY REVEALED.
GIFT TO LONDON HOSPITALS. NAME OF "AUDAX" PUBLISHED. British Wireless. " RUGBY. May 13. The Evening Standard this evening* discloses lht- identity of the person who anonymously gave £105,000 to the King Edward's Hospital Fund for London, as a thanks-offering for King George's recovery, whose identity has been veiled under the pseudonym of " Audax." A few evenings ago, " Audax " broadcast an appeal to the public to help the hospital fund, while still retaining his pseudonym. The Evening Standard states that within the last few days so many people have succeeded in discovering his identity that the mystery is a mystery no longer. " Audax " is Mr. George Roberts, of Wimbledon, a director of several companies. The Evening Standard adds that no more effective advertisement could have been devised for the hospital fund than the obscurity which " Audax " so determinedly courted.
