LARGE STOCKS OF BOOKS. REORGANISATION NECESSARY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Tuesday. The Hamilton Library has now 993 subscribers, anrl during last year 110,956 books vero issued, including 100.035 works of fiction and 5597 children's books. There arc in the library 11,973 books. In his report, to be submitted to the annual meeting of subscribers on Thursday evening, the acting-chairman of t committee, Mr.- E. G. Johnson, states that the growth of the library has made reorganisation necessary in order to provide accommodation for the increasing stock of books, not only in the circulating room, but in the children's and reference rooms. Architects had been instructed to prepare plans to meet the needs of the committee and, the Borough Council having approved of the scheme, the work is expected to be put in hand in the near future.
