THE HAMILTON UNION.
TEAMS IN SENIOR GRADE.
[EY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Monday. A special meeting of the Hamilton Busby Union was held on Saturday to discuss the admission of a second Old Boys' team in the senior grade. Most of the speakers were of opinion that there were not enough players in Hamilton to warrant sis senior teams. After considerable discussion the following motion was carried by 15 votes to o:—"That this meeting considers that the management committeo was ill-advised in admitting Old Boys' second team and suggests that in future the transfer of players between two senior teams bo disallowed." The representative of the Technical Old Boys' Club. Mr. E. J. L. )Vh.ting. said it was not in the interests of Rugby ' OO ball in Hamilton that the Old Bo\s B team should bo admitted nito the senior grade. The public, which paid for admission to Rugby games, should be. entitled to witness the highest standard ot plas. Mr. P. A. Syers said he objected to the interchange of players between two in the same prade as unfair to the cJuo3 which hod entered only one team. K REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. WEEKLY MEETING HELD. The Auckland Rugby Referees' Association met last, evening, tho president, Mr. M. Kronfeld, presiding over an attendance ot 4t members. Messrs. Alexander ana Beard, of the Manukau Association, and Mr. it. O. Williamson, of the Otago Association, wore from the referees, at Wellsford that Mr. P. s'lackic should visit, the district to deliver a lecture on the lows ot the {xanie was considered favourably and ic*errcd to tho executive. , . ~ ~ In a paper on "Mistakes of the Referee, Mr. A. Pa till emphasised the importance of absolute physical fitness on the part of a referee, and held that fewer variations in decisions would be noticed if tho referee could keep up with tho game. . Mr. J. Sheppard was presented with his intcrprovincia! certificate.

Playing in the Rugby match between Old Boys and Greytown on Saturday A. E. Cooke, the All Black, had a wrist broken, lie has gone to Wellington to have an X-ray examination of the injury made.
