YOUNG MAN SENT TO PRISON

Sentence was pasrtod to-day by the Chief Justice, Hon. M. Myers, on James Smith, a young man found guilty of assault so as to cause bodily harm. The case arose out of a disturbance in a house in Cuba Street, during which a man was struck on the head with a bottle. N*ine months' imprisonment was the sentence imposed, His Honor taking into consideration the fact that Smith had been in custody three and a-half months.
