RATING ON FARM LANDS.
AREAS IN BOROUGHS.
The fear that if rating on the unimproved value were carried a great hardship would be imposed on the farming area was expressed by Mr. James McCall, chairman of the Papakura Town Board, in an interview with the Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands and Agriculture, yesterday. The Minister stated that the question of farm lands in boroughs and town districts had been pre-eminently before the Government's notice and the Minister of Internal Affairs was at present going into the question with a view to determining whether legislation was necessary.
