STONEHENGE SAVED.
Land surrounding Stonehengo, the Temple of the Druids, on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, lias been saved by tho nation from falling into tho hands of builders. The option to purchase tho site, on which there was a threat to build bungalows, was to expire recently. A few days previously £2OOO was still needed, and a special appeal was issued by the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest with Natural Beauty. Tho total sum necessary to complete the purchase was soon subscribed.
