MAN TAKES OWN LIFE.

[Br TELEGRAPH. —PRESS /SSOCMTION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Tho body of William Douglas, aged 55, was found at his residenco this morning with a shotgun lying beside it. At an inquest concerning his death it was stated Mr. Douglas, who was manager of a coffee stall, was given a cup of tea by his wife at eight o'clock, and when ho was called for breakfast an hour later, said ho would be down in a few minutes. A muffled report was heard, and on investigation he was found to bo dead, with a wound m his head. A verdict was returned of death from a gunshot wound, self-inflicted^
