RAILWAY CROSSING.
CHURCH STREET, PENROSE.
NEED OF WARNING-SIGNS
There is apparently 110 immediate prospect of warning or other safety devices being installed at tho dangerous railway crossing at Church Street, Penrose. 111 reply to frequent representations to the Railway Department Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., has been informed that although the crossing is in the department's list for warning devices to bo installed there are still a number of others at which the need of protection is considered more urgent. Warning devices are being installed strictly 111 order of urgency as funds become available. Mr. Jordan has sent a further telegram to the Minister of Railways mentioning tho recent fatal accident at the crossing. At tho inquest tho coroner stated that the crossing was a dangerous one. Mr. Jordan expressed regret that the matter should be treated lightly by the department and repeated his request for it to be considered as urgent.
