QUESTION OF SAFETY MEN.
WITHDRAWAL MOTION LOST.
(Received May 9, 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 9
The threats made by tho coalminers' executive to withdraw the safety men from the northern collieries aro not to he fulfilled. A vote on the question was taken to-day and resulted in an overwhelming majority in favour of allowing tho safety men to stay at their posts for tho present.
