ECLIPSE OF THE SUN.

SUCCESS OF OBSERVERS.

ALMOST PERFECT RESULTS.

DISPLAY OF THE CORONA.

(Received May 9. 10.55 p.m.) United Service. SINGAPORE, May !). A message from the scientists at Alor Star, in Kcdah, Malay Peninsula, states that for one hour before the eclipse today the sun was constantly concealed by passing clouds. These conditions threatened to make a failure of the observations.

However, just prior to the eclipse the sun pierced the clouds and almost perfect results were obtained.

Except for a slight haze the corona was beautifully displayed.
