PROPOSED BOUTS ON JUNE 3. A meeting of the match committee of tlie Northern Boxing Association was held yesterday when it was decided to hold two contests op. June 3. The secretary, Mr. J. H. "Watts, is in communication with Tommy Donovan, of Waitari. to see if he is prepared to meet Matt Hatton, the Auckland feather-weight, over 10 rounds. The second professional boiit proposed is between Frank Taylor, the Auckland professional bantam-weight, and Cyril Hume, of Wellington, last year's amateur bantamweight champion. Two amateur bouts are also contemplated, one of six rounds between Frenr and Mr. Carthney. for a special trophy, and one of four rounds between two welter-weights. TE AWAMUTU INSTITUTE. YEAR OF GOOD PROGRESS. [r.y TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. The annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Young Men's Institute attracted a large attendance. The annual report, disclosed a very successful year, which ended with a credit of £34. Three tournaments had been held and each improved the finances. Five members competed in the South Auckland boxing championships. A. Craig winning, the feather-weight title, and A. Dick the under Gst. title. At the Auckland championship A. Craig and C. Craig were runner-ups in their grades. At the Huntly tourney E. Adams and P. Harford won their bouts, and A. Craig fought a draw. Later, at Hamilton, A. Craig, C. Craig. W. Wilson, E. Adams and J. Horan were all winners. Two members travelled to Patea in October, when A. Craig lost to T. Donovan, and C. Craig defeated G. Mercer. Recently (!. Craig successfully defended the Muir Challenge Cup against F. Fraei. of Auckland. At Hamilton in March five members competed and were all successful. C Craig won the T:'tehen Challenge Belt. The wrestling section also did well, and at the cbamnionship tourney at Raetihi, W. Bay lie. T. Wenham and C. Jones were worthy representatives. Mention was made of Bayne joining the professional ranks where he continued successful until rheumatic fever put, him out of action. Ho is still an inmate of the Waikato Hospital. The institute has assets valued at ovor £90(1. including a valuable section in Te Awnniutu's business area. The officers elected were President, Mr. C. A. Reillv; vice-presidents, Messrs. W.
