Tho amount levied last year was £34,733 16s 6d, tho increase iu tho levy being £42 17s 4d. The Government subsidy for tho current year will bo £28,445 16s Id, compared with £27,718 0s 3d last year. Lowry (Piakoj, mentioned that the Piako County levy had increased from £3251 to £3939. The chairman replied that tliere had been t marked increase 111 the valuation of the Piako County There had been a decrease from £3,170,976 to £2,336,744 m the valuation of the Waitomo County due to tho elimination o) native lands from the areas valued for rating purposes. There had been a consequent decrease in the levy on the Waitoino County Council from £2784 to £2064.

The treasurer reported that all the local bodies had paid their levies for last year Mr. W, Hill (Rotorua), said the amount of fees earned ny tho board was £28.000 in 1924-25 and £37.000 in 1928-29. The amount collected during that period had increased from per cent, of fees due to 42 per cent last year. Tlie amounts collected by other boards last year, said Mr. Hill, were as follows Auckland, 35 per cent,. . Wellington, 24 per cent. ; Otago, 28 per cent md North Canterbury, 42 per cent Mr. Hill congratulated the treasurer, Mr. E. G. Johnson, on the success he had achieved.
