THEFT OF SHIP'S STORES

THREE FIREMEN FINED

Charges of stealing two tins of jam from the stores of tho steamer Canadian Britisher were admitted by three firemen, John Mackinnon, aged 21, Henry Mills, aged 36, and Joseph Lockman, aged 32, in the Police Court yesterday.

"It is tho usual case of theft from the stores," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. "The men were going ashore with the jam when they were stopped at the wharf gates." A fine ot £2 was imposed by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on each accused.
