JOAN OF ARC MEMORIAL.
A SiLKEN UNION JACK. MARSHAL FOCH'S SIGNATURE. [from our own correspondent.] ■ LONDON, March 27. A correspondent writes to the Times:— "When in England a few years ago Marshal Foch was asked by Prebendary Carlile, at tho French Embassy, to sign a silk Union Jack, of which the Prebendary was tho deputed bearer to Domremy, to hang it in the Joan of Arc Memorial Church. Marshal Foch said, "But why should I dishonour your flag by signing it?" " Sir," replied Prebendary Carlile (they both spoke in French), "it would bo an honour." Then Marshal Foch signed, and said, " If only 1 had had three Joans of Arc in the field no Boche would have set foot on French soil." Marshal Foch stated that nothing had given him so much pleasure on his visit as signing tho flag for Joan of Arc's Memorial Church. On tho same flag is the signature of 'FieldMarshal Lord Haig.
