DISTRICT IN THE NORTH. TREES TORN UP BY ROOTS. [Bl' TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] KAITAIA, Wednesday. A hurricane which swept through Kaingaroa, a small farming and flax-growing district, eight miles from Kaitaia, loft a track about two chains wide, in which everything was torn down. Many trees were uprooted, and one was broken and carried some distance.

The damage to the house is estimated at £7O. Telegraph poles were broken off and windows of other dwellings were broken.
