DAIRY EXPORT TRADE.

VICTORIANS WANT CONTROL. Asking that a bill be introduced to control the marketing of dairy produce a deputation representing tho Co-operative Butter Factory Directors' Association, tho Victorian Dairymen's Association, the Victorian Country party, and tho Chamber of Agriculture, waited upon the Minister of Agriculture (Mr. Pennington) early this month. The president of the Dairymen's Association (Mr. A. McKenzie) said that the difficulties which hindered the dairying industry were not within the reach of the farmers, and they could bo removed only by legislation. Dairy farmers throughout the State were enthusiastic tegarding the proposal that a Marketing Act should bo brought into force, as it was realiesd that it would prove of considerable benefit to the industry. Other speakers suggested that any measure for the control of marketing should be submitted to dairy farmers before being passed. Mr. Pennington said that the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Daily ing were being studied by tho department's experts, who, it was expected, would soon be in a position to decide on a number of questions affecting tho industry. It was likely that if a bill were introduced to control marketing it would concern not only dairy farmers but all primary producers.
