ACCLIMATISATION WORK.
WAIMARINO SOCIETY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] RABTIHI, "Wednesday. The Wairnavino Acclimatisation Society at its monthly meeting received an offer from the conservator of fish and game at Rotorua to sell rainbow and brown trout ova and fry from selected trout to ho taken from Taupo waters. As it was desired that the funds of the Waimarino Society be conserved, so that operations could be carried out on a large scale next year, it was resolved that the hatchery be not opened this season. It was decided to purchase a number of pheasants from Palmerston North, to be liberated; in August. The Taumarunui Rod and Gun Club advised that it had liberated six brace of pheasants in the Waimarino district. The society decided that an application be made to have a sanctuary for game declared on a property at Valley Road, Raetihi.
