OBITUARY.
MS. BENJAMIN BUTTLE,
Tho death has occurred of Mr. Benjamin Watson Buttle, aged 72, a wellknown Auckland business man. Ho was manager in Auckland of tho Kaiapoi Woollen Company for 24 years and for many years played a prominent part in connection with tho Auckland Manufacturers' Association. Mr. Buttle was born at Te Ivopua. on tho Waipa River. He was one of the original pupils of the Auckland Grammar School. After completing his studies, he entered the woollen business in Nelson, afterwards joining the Hawke's Bay staff of the Kaiapoi Woollen Company. Ho was later appointed Auckland manager of the company. Mr. Buttle retired from tho company's service about three years ago. For a. period he" was president of (ho Manufacturers' Association, and at tho timo of his death was a vice-president. His wise counsel, bached bv a long experience, proved of great value in guiding the destinies of tho association. Mr. Buttle also fulfilled tho duties of treasurer of tho Auckland Winter Exhibition.
DR. C. L. NED WILL. [BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Dr. Courtney L. JNedwill, a well-known medical practitioner. He had been seriously ill for some months. Dr. Nedwill was educated at Christ's College and Cambridge University, and trained at St. Bartholomew's. He had a wide and varied experience as a medical man having practised in several countries, including Egypt and tho Sudan. During tho Great War he served for a considerable period at Trentham camp.
