SEQUEL TO FATALITY.
CHARGE AGAINST MOTORIST. [ijy TELEGRAPH.— I'RESS ASSOCIATION.] ASHBUETON. Wednesday. In the Ashburton Police Court Robert McKay, a farmer, of Longbeach, was charged with having negligently driven a motor-car so as to cause the death of Francis Godwin. The case is a sequel to a fatality on March 31 in East Street, when the car collided with Mr. Godwin's gig. McKay was committed for trial, bail being allowed on his own recognisance.
