FREE FIGHT AT MELBOURNE. RIOTOUS SCENES OCCUR. (Received April 30, 11.15 p.m.) MELBOURNE. April 30. There were riotous scenes at the Trades Hall, Melbourne, this afternoon. Three thousand strikers gathered in the quadrangle, where addresses were delivered. '
Interjections and violent threats culminated in a free fight. Some of the speakers were hurled from the platform.
The trouble was due to rival factions, one of which, desired to open peace negotiations with the Lord Mayor.
