The Auckland Aero Club's two Moth machines, which visited Hastings for tho aerial pageant last Saturday, were preparing for a search over Cook Strait yesterday when news of the finding of the missing Marlborough machine was received. The news came to hand when the Moths were at Feilding ready to take off and the aviators accordingly changed their plans and turned homeward, The Moths flew to New Plymouth and landed there last evening. They ate expected to leave for Auckland this morning. The pilots are Major K. Caldwell and Captain Blomfield and the passengers are Sir. L, W. Swan, secretary of the Auckland Aero Club, and Mr. E. Copley, ground engineer at Mangero aerodrome. Thinking that the Moths might return to Auckland yesterday, and in view of the very unfavourable weather. Major G. A. C. Cowper, instructor of the Aero Club, who has remained at Mangero, sent word advising the pilots not to attempt to reach Auckland.
