Vincent last evening :—Cold and showery weather is indicated, especially in west cof.sfc districts and-southern areas, while snow 'is likely on the higher lovels in the south. Westerly to southwesterly ■ winds, strong and squally, decreasing gradually. Rough seas on tho west coast and in Cook Strait, but slowly moderating. The recent intense disturbance is now pas.sing to thci south-eastward of the Dominion, and a temporary improvement ;m conditions is expected shortly. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —The cyclone has moved away rapidly and is now centred south-east of the Chatham Islands. A new depression is forming near Tasmania, and the weather is morn of the westerly typo than has been usual of late. Indications are for moderate to strong south to west winds, reaching gale force at times about Foveanx Straits. Seas rough generally in New Zealand waters, but moderating somewhat On tho east coast. , Strong south-westerli.es and rather rough to rough seas in the eastern Tasman.
