MODERN PLAYS. I ■ . A lecture on " Modern Hays " was delivered under the auspices of the Victoria League Literary Society by Mr. J. W. Shaw in the league rooms last evening. The lecture dealt mainly with Bernord and his -works, and was illustrated with appropriate readings. _ It was Iho inaugural lecture of a series of e ]P' lo arranged for the winter season. Air. Townley Little presided over a large attendance.
