ONE TREE HILL AFFAIRS.
MEETING OF RATEPAYERS. Tho annual meeting ot ratepayers of the One Tree Hill Road Board district was held last evening. Mr. H. B. Dobbie, chairman of the board, presided over a fair attendance.
Tho annual report and balanco sheet wore adopted with little discussion. In moving their adoption tho chairman said there was a small balance on tho debit side, but it was not at all serious. It was due chiefly to unexpected expenditure the board had beou called upon to meet, including £3OO for tho preparation of n town-planning map. A complain*, was mado by a ratepayer about tho method of valuation employed in the district, and tlio manner in which objectors were notified of sittings of tho Assessment Court. It ■ was decided to recommend that notification should be mad? bj registered letter. A vote of. thanks to Mr. C. Mcintosh, who is not seeking re-election to tho board, was carried . by acclamation, and the board, as a whoie, was accorded a vote of thanks for its services during the year. ... Addresses were given by Messrs. I. J. Ooldstine, T. Whitehead and ..T. Wood, who are candidates for membership of the board.
