PLAYING ON SUNDAYS.
CHILDREN AT THAMES. COMPLAINT BY MINISTERS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Monday. At a meeting of the Thames Borough Council a protest was received from the Thames Ministers' Association against children attending at the newly-built playing area on Sundays. '1 lie association stated that children were in the habit of playing on the swings on Sundays. The Mayor, Mr. W. Bongard, said the proposal to close the area to children on Sundays did not appeal to him. The question whether children should bo permitted to slide down chutes or play on swings ou Sundays was ono for their parents. « After Mr. Briggs had strongly supported the Mayor in this view it was decided to defer consideration of the complaint until tlio area came officially under the control of the council.
