GROWING PARSLEY.
SUPPLEMENTARY CROP. A sowing of parsley should bo made shortly in order that tho young plants will bo a fair sizo by tho time tho present crop runs to seed. This occurs fairly early in spring, and for a few weeks before-hand the flavour of the parsley is impaired. Parsley will do well in practically any soil from a -stiff clay to a light volcanic one, but to make growth during the wet winter fairly favourable conditions are required, so the soil should bo well worked. A little compost, may bo worked into the soil before the seed is sown. Although parsley appears to bo able to grow well with very little food, a litUo compost will help the development. of tlio plants considerably. Paisley should lie sown thinly, as it is afterwards thinned-out to about 4in. •part..
