WOMAN'S FATAL WOUND.

HUSBAND IN CRITICAL STATE.

(Received April 29, 8.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. A domestic tragedy occurred this afternoon at Baukstown, a suburb of Sydney. As a result Mrs. Clara Iless, aged 24, is dead and her husband, Phillip Hess, aged 28, is in a critical condition. Tho throats of both victims were severely gashed with a razor. The man also had a bullet wound in his head.

Neighbours heard screams, but were on (ho scene too late to render assistance. The husband is said to have been seen cutting his own throat in the bathroom. GRUESOME DISCOVERY. QUEENSLAND MAN'S DEATH. BODY FOUND AFTER FIRE. BRISBANE. April 20. A tragic affair occurred at Surat, 350 miles west of Brisbane. Some human remains, believed to bo those of Jack Green, aged 60, who had been missing for some weeks, were discovered by the police in the debris of a fire. Two young men who were seen driving a vehicle owned by Green have been detained. There were signs that the lire was a very fioico one. SINGLE WOMAN'S END. ASPHYXIATED IN A FLAT. LAST COINS IN GAS METER. SYDNEY, April 20. A single woman, Marjorio Talk, aged 30, became despondent owing to unemployment and a fancied mistake in a love affair. She used her last twopence to operate a gas meter in her flat at Darlinghurst on Friday morning and asphyxiated herself. The woman was discovered dead yesterday. According to statements she had made before her death her parents are living in New Zealand. FIRE AFTER ACCIDENT. CAPSIZED MOTOR-CAR. GIRL DIES IN HOSPITAL. SYDNEY, April 29. A motor-car capsized for some unexplained reason at Bankstown, anil caught fire. The occupants, two men and two women, were all grievously injured. Lily Anderson, aged 22, died soon after she had been admitted to hospital.
