THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

PUKEKOHE. Monday
Tho annual mectiug of the South Auckland Rugby Union was held here to-da./, the president, Mr ,7 Dean, presiding Delegates were present from tho Manukau. Franklin, Pukekohc aud Waiuku Unions. Tho balance-shee'- presented by the secretary, Mr. W J. Short, showed accumulated funds totalling £lOl.
Officers were elected for the ensuing seaion as follows:—Patron. Mr. J. N Mijssey, M.P.; president Mr. J. Dean; vice presidents, Messrs. J. R. Wilson, E. C. Foote D. Jamicson. H. Curd, G. Carter, H. Wilcos, A. Dutliie. G. Bright and two to ■ ■ nominated by the Waikare Union seer" tary and treasurer, Mr, W. J Short dele gate to the Auckland Kugby Union. It was announced that Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P., was donating a cup for competition and ths union's thanks were accorded him.
The Thames Union asked for a tentative date for a match between Thames and South Auckland this season in return for tho mutch at Tlmiiiics last season. It was decided to suggest either May 25 or June 3.
A meetina will be held in three weeks to arrange the draw for the union's competitions.
It was .decided to take steps to have tho boundary between the South Auckland Union district and the iiewl.v-formed Tau•piri Union diatric defined, tho Waikare Union to be first consulted in the matter. The Pacroa Rugby Union opened its 1929 »casou on Saturday when two senior games nnd one junior game were played. _ There was a good attendance at tho Domain and tho Paeroa Cadet Band was in attendance. In tho senior grade West defeated East by 17 points to 0. and \Hikutaia defeated Pirates by 11 to 10. after a most interesting game. East juniors defeated West juniors. I'IAKO UNION'S DRAW. Smith (Paeroa): vice-presidents. Messrs. W. Bride (Paeroa). Reed (Plains), and \V, Dunstan (Wailii). Mr. H. M. Stand was elected delegate to the Thames Valley Rugby /Union. TAUMARUNUI PLAYERS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUMARUNUI, Monday. Tho Taumarunui Rugby Sub-Union opened the season on Saturday with a seven-a-side tournament. There was a large attendance. In the fourth grade final Bell's team defeated Carter's team on u force down. In the third grade final Athletic A, 3, defeated High School A, 0. The junior final was won by Taumarunui A, 13, which defeated Wairunui, 0. In tho senior grade Ongarue. 6. defeated Athletic, 8: and Taumarunui A. 20. defeated Taumn,runui D, 0.
