LITTLE BUSINESS ON SATURDAY.

Business was light at 1.110 single call on (ho Auckland Slock Exchange on Saturday, only twd sales being recorded.

3 There was a keen demand for Govern- , m.ont securities on tho basis of current > offers, but no business was done in the s section. Tho banking section was also f quiet, tho tendency being for holders to harden. In insurance offers for New Zealand wero advanced threepence to 46s 3d, but sellers held out for 475. In shipping there was a sale of Northerns at 15s, tho current rate, while in miscellaneous tho preference issue of Aus--5 tralian Iron and Steel changed hands at 3 21s 6d, an advance of sixpence on tho ' price given at the preceding salo in J March. In mining Waihis were wanted at » 14s, the salo rate of tho previous day, s sellers 14s 2d. t SATURDAY'S SALES. 1 Tho following sales took placo on 1 Saturday Northern Steamship, 15s; a Australian Iron and Steel, preference. 21s 6d.
