CONSIGNMENT FROM BRITAIN. Red Poll cattle have been going overseas from Britain in 110 greater numbers than to Africa. Following on the South 'African Government's purchases of cattle of this breed, they ha ye been extensively imported into Kenya Colony, and now a record consignment, bought by the Govment of Southern Rhodesia and cattle breeders there, has been acquired to the total of just on 40. This considerable augmentation to the Red Poll breed s overseas trade is attributable not only to the Red Roll's hardiness and adaptability fur warm and hot climates, but its ability to resist tick-borne diseases prevalent in Mich a country whither they arc now going. Numerous herds, including those of Lord Tredegar in South Wales, Mr. J. (.1. Gray in Warwickshire, Major J. Gordon Dugdale and Captain F. W. WinterLot ham in Gloucestershire, LieutenantColonel C. Hey worth Savage in Oxfordshire, Sir Merrill R. Uurell, Bait., in Sussex, the Rt. Mon. E. G. Rretyman, Mr. Stuart Paul, Mr. Wm. Woodgate, Mr. .7. R. Hargreaves and Major J. S. _\"new in Suffolk, have supplied the stock" required which answer to the dual-purpose description in the accepted sense of the ierm.
