HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES. CHARGES FOR COW COLLARS. [nv TKl.EtillAl'H. —OWN ' COItItESrONDENT. ] OPOTIIvI, Saturday. The final meeting of (ho Opotiki Borough Council was held this week, Mr. G. S. Moody presiding. It was decided to support tho protest against any decrease in heavy traffic licence fees. The Opotiki Hospital Board forwarded its estimates for the coining year and stated that the borough levy amounted to £2BO. Lively discussion took place on (ho Finance Commit leu's report, recommending reverting to the old charges for cow collars for grazing on streets. A vote was taken and (ho recommendation was agreed (o on the casting vote of the Mayor. Tlui Works Committee recommended that Messrs. Vickerman and Lancaster's report on Hood preveutiou.bo referred to I lie Minister of Public Works, and that he be asked to subsidise tlio work.
