AUTUMN FLOWER SHOWS.

DISPLAY AT TE AWAMUTU. [BV TELEGIIAPH.—OWN COBUESPONnKNT. 1 TE AWAMUTU. Saturday. Tho autumn llowor show in connection with .St. John's Church was held yesterday. There wa3 a splendid display of chrysanthemums, dahlias and other blooms. The championship in (ho chrysanthemum section was won by W. H. Davis, with a beautiful whito Louise Pockett. The championship and novice section was won by Master Frank Mason, with a golden champion. The quality of tho blooms was equal to the previous best standaid.

The points prize was won by Mrs. R. Laurie, tho runner-up being W. H. Davis. In tho novice section (he points prize was won by Frank Mason.

Tlic aiituirni show, with which was combined the chrysanthemum exhibition, hold under tho auspices of the Iluntly Horticultural Society, was opened on Friday in fine weather. Some magnificent blooms were shown. The points prizes were awarded as follows:—Chrysanthemums, George Shaw Cup, Mr. J' 1 . Meek; Mrs. Bailey's trophy, Mr. F. Meek; ccrificale of merit, Mr. F. Meek; champion bloom, Mr. F. Meek; amateur's cup, Mr. M. Shepherd; novices, I\ F. Bavley's trophy, Mr. B. Gardner; dahlias, E. W. Marston's trophy, Airs. ('. Bailey; F. Littieproud's trophy, Mrs. G. Bailey; cut flowers, G. Shaw's trophy, Mrs. S. Foster; decorative section. Fanners' Trading Company's trophy, Mrs. C. Bailey; vegetables, F. Harris' trophy, Mrs. S. Foster; collection of vegetables, H. Gainford's trophy, Mrs. S. Foster; decorated table, R. W. Fairhurst's trophy, Mrs. H. Payne.
