THE LOCAL ELECTIONS.

CITY COUNCIL SEATS.

DETAILS OF CANDIDATES.

OCCUPATIONS AND ADDRESSES. GUIDE FOR WEDNESDAY'S POLL. To assist electors in their task of selecting 2! members for tho Au kland City Council on Wednesday, a t has been prepared, giving the names of the 67 candidates, their occupations, addresses j and sponsors. Never previously in tho history of the city havo there been so many aspirants for municipal honours. The city's borders have been extended to embrace Avondale, Taniaki and Orakei since the last municipal/elections, and the task of selection has correspondingly becomo more difficult. The addresses of tho candidates are given in response to requests from electors desiring to givo each district representation in the new council. The main and supplementary rolls have been mainly relied upon to provide this information, but in several cases only the business addresses of candidates are ascertainable from that source.

No fewer than seven "tickets" havo been recommended to electors. Eighteen retiring members of tho council are again seeking election, as denoted by tho word "sitting."
