MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. QUESTION OF TRANSFERS. THREE SELECTORS APPOINTED. The management committee of tho Auckland Rugby Loaguo mot on Wednesday evening, Mr G. Rhodes presiding. A lengthy discussion followed a notico of motion by Mr. 11. Solomon, that all financial members of any club shall have tho right at tho end of each season to nominate tho club they intend to play with tho following season. Iu support of tho motion, Mr. Solomon said under existing conditions tho transfer rtilo was a farce and players should have tho option of going to any club they desired. Air. H. Douglas opposed the motion on tho grounds that a strong financial club could concentrate on getting tho best players available. Mr. W. J. Davidson supported tho principle of tho suggestion, but said tho time was not opportune until a lesser number of clubs represented tho senior A grade. Tho motion was lost. The Richmond Club advised tho withdrawal of its team from tho B section. It was decided to advise all clubs of the position and call for tho nomination of a team to fill the vacancy. _ The Mangero Club advised that a new football ground had been secured in the district and it was decided to play the match between Otahuhu and Mangero senior B there next Saturday. ]t was resolved to place a wreath on the cenotaph in memory of fallen soldiers. Regarding time in senior matches it, was agreed they shall be of two spells of 40 minutes' duration, and tho time of starting shall be decided each week. Messrs. E. V. Fox. E. K. Asher and H. Avery were appointed selectors of the Auckland team. Tho following transfers were approved:— W J. Perry. Parnell to City; H. J. Pa ton. Parnell to City; J. Keane. Parnell to Newton; W Mollov. Parnell to Richmond; h. H May. Northcoto to Ellerslie; W. Telford, Glebe "(Sydney), to Richmond. Ten applications (or registration a3 senior players were received. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. OPENING OF THE SEASON. DEYOXPORT AND PONSOXBY. Tho official opening of tho Auckland Rugby League's season will bo held tomorrow when games in tho senior grade A and B competitions will be played. Chief interest will centre in tho meeting of Devonport. last year's champions, and Ponsonby. at Carlaw Park, No. 1. As a cur-tain-raiser the newly-formed senior team, Kingsland-Athletic, will meet City, at 1.45. On the No. 2 ground Newton will try conclusions with Marist, while at Ellendie the local team will play Richmond. Following arc tho teams:— PARNELL.
