CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

THE AUCKLAND GUN CLUB.: AN EXCITING TEAMS MATCH. There ws3 a record attendance at tha Auckland Gun Club's grounds, Pakuranga, on Wednesday, when members of 'the Hamilton and New Lynn Clubs and tha ladies were the gueste of the Auckland Club. There was some excellent shooting, and possibles had to be obtained in all matches to win. The chief event was the teams match between the Hamilton and Auckland Clubs—ll men a-side, 15 bird 3, all off 14yds. The match was shot in a series of three birds, and contrary to expectations Auckland gained a lead or four birds in the first round. It held this for two more rounds, but Hamilton gained two .011 the fourth. Auckland, however, gained two more on the final and eventually won by four points. The individual scores/ were as follows; Hamilton.—G. Seddon, 14'; J. McMiken, 14; P. Jelavich. 14; G. Peach. 35; W. Howe. 13; E. M. Green. 11; S. Parlour. 9; E. O'Kane. 14; T. Glenn, 15; J. Amundsen, 14; W. Woolven. 14. Total, 147. Auckland.—A. E. Macredie, 15: P. H. Seccombe. 14: D. Fraaer. 14: A. Hanuigan, 15; W. E. Grant, 15: R. H. B&rtley. 9; J. Donnelly, 15; J. Robertson. 14; D. S. Ewing, 13; F. H Hazard, 12; C. E. Hodge, 15. Total. 151. The winners received Mr. F. H. Seccombe'3 trophy, which will be competed for shortly. A seven binds match was divided by P. Jelavich, W. Howe, J. McMiken, _ C. Seddon, E. O'Kane. J. Amundsen, all of Hamilton, and W. E. Grant. A. Hannigan, and F. E. McKenzie, of Auckland. The Macredie Cup provided a most exciting contest, 32 competing, and each competitor shooting for a. lady present, for tha ladies' trophy. The following shot the possible of 10 birds:—J. McMiken. (17yds), P. Jelavich (16), E. M. Greer. (16). J. Amundsen (17), J. Robertson (15), W. E. Grant (14), R 11. Bartlev (14), F. H. Hazard (14). They divided the prize-money and shot, off for the two trophies. McMiken and Hazard missed the 12th bird. Robertson the 17th, Giint the ISth. Amundsen the 23rd, Jelavich the 26th, and Bartley the 32nd. Green shooting his bird and winning the silver cup. The successful lady to win the trophy w«s Mrs. A. E. Macredie. An American shoot (five men on the mark together), vns divided by J. McMiken, J. Amundsen, C. Seddon, E. O'Kane. D. Fraser and C. E. Hodge with the possible of 10. The next shoot will be held on May IS.
