Parwiz was bought when a yearling for 10 OOOgns. At two-yea,rs-old he failed to wm a race; and at three-years-old he only managed to win the Gratwicke Produce Stakes at Goodwood, in which event he beat a field of five.

While engaged in a trial run over the hurdles at To Rapa yesterday morning, Berinthia, the sis-year-old maie owned by Mr. C. Johnstone, of Whatawhata, fell and broke her neck. Her rider, Cyril Butler, of Hamilton, was thrown clear, and sustained a severe shaking and injury to his rieht shoulder. The mare was on a solo trial. She started from the mile post and cleared the first liu.vdle comfortably. Failing to rise at the second, she struck it low down, turning a complete somersault and landing on her neck. She was killed outright. Berinthia was entered for the Frankton Hurdle Race on Saturday and tho Matangi Hurdle Race on Monday at the Waikato Racing Club's meeting.

HOBSE DISQUALIFIED.

ACTION BY PONY STEWARDS.

Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received April 24, 5-5 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 24. The Ascot pony ra.cing stewards to-day disqualified for six months the prominent gelding Southern Cross, ana also its owner, Mr. Halbert, and the jockey, Maxwell. This gelding originally raced in New Zealand.
