BOARD'S FINAL MEETING

x. THE SEWERAGE CONTRACTS

The New Lynn Toivn Board met this week, the chairman. Mr. W. L. Titchener, presiding. The traffic inspector reported that during the twelve months 500 motordrivers' licences had been issued by his department. The drainage engineer reported that all work in connection with the sewerage scheme was proceeding satisfactorily. Several contracts had been completed, and others would be completed in the course of a few weeks. The chairman referred to the fact that this was the last, meeting of the board. jWhen next they, or their successors, met round the table they would be meeting as a borough council. In reviewing the progress New Lynn had made as a town district after separating from the Waitemata Council, he said that steady progress had been made all through the years, and now that the status of a borough had been reached he predicted even more rapid advancement/. He thanked Hie members for their loyal/ support during the term he had occupied the chair.
