INTOXICATED MOTORIST.

A plea of guilty was made by Andrew Duncan Anderson, an insurance agent, in the Magistrate's Court at Te Aroha on Saturday to a charge of driving a motor-car while in a state of intoxication. Constable Monson said that at 7 p.m. on Friday evening defendant was driving a car from Te Aroha in the direction of Morrinsville and when leaving Waitoa he kept to the middle of the road and ran into a car which was coming in the opposite direction. The other car was considerablv damaged. He had seen defendant stall din 2 by his car at Te Aroha before he left "and as he was obviously not in a fit state to drive he was warned not to get into the car. Defendant said there was no use denying that he had had too much liquor. A fine of £lO, with costs, was imposed.
