OUTLINE BY MINISTER
[BY TELEGRAPH.—SJIESS ASSOCIATION.] CARTERTON, Sunday. The Minister of Lands, Hon. G. W. Forbes, accompanied by Mr. T. W. McDonald, M.P. for Wairarapa, arrived in Greytown on Friday night, and was received by tho Mayor and members of the council at the Town Hall. The Minister said it had given him pleasure to see the splendid lands of the Lower Valley. From information received he was prepared to place the question of closer settlement before his colleagues. He then outlined what the Government was prepared to do to attain closer settlement, and ilso to eliminate unemployment. After his address the Minister received all who desired to place matters concerning closer settlement before him, and he promised that their representations would be carefully investigated.
