BITTEN BY A SNAKE.
WOUND BLED WITH AXE. Mr. R. Wilson, of Elands, on the Buiga Plateau, about §8 miles from Wingham, New South Wales, was recently savagely attacked by a tiger snake while in the bush. Mr. Wilson's dog disturbed the snake, which showed fight, and Mr. Wilson went to the assistance of his dog. The snake struck Mr. Wilson on the boot and on the left leg. Mr. Wilson, having chopped the snake in two, bled the puncture in his leg by cutting it with his axe, which was \eiv sharp. He then made haste to a sawmill, where the wound was dressed, and Mr. Wilson was conveyed to a hospital. He is none the worse for his adventure.
