AUCKLAND WOOL SALES

REARRANGEMENT OF DATES. In response to a request made by the Auckland Wool Brokers' Association there has boon a readjustment in the dates fpr the Auckland wool sales next season. Sales will now be held on November 26, January 23 and an oddment sale on March 21. During the season just closed, sales were held on November 26, - February 23. and the oddment sale on April 11. Complaints woro freely expressed that these dates left, too big a gap between snles and the new arrangement should be much more suitable.

Farmers are stocking more heavily than usual, thanks to the splendid season and topdressing, but. still apparently they require liioro stock to keep the feed down, bat sheep were down, eoiupared with prices of a month ago, and the quality was not up to the previous standard. Fat lambs made 20s 3d to 25s 3d: ewes, 22s to 27h 10d: two-tooth ewes. 30s 2d: wethers, 27a Gd to 29s Sd. Stoic?: Four nnd five-year, running with Southdown, rams, 20s to 32s Gd: two-tooth. 335: two. four and six-tooth, 325; cwo lambs, 28s; wether lambs, tfis 5d to 21s 9d • mixed woolly Southdown lambs. Several pens failed to reach the owner's reserve, but all were disposed of at satisfactory prices privately. Tho beef yarded was mostly plain and unfinished, but met with good competition.
