According to T.P.'s Weekly, the two books that have been read more than all others by sailors are *' Robbery Under Arms" and " It's Never Too Late to Mend."
Mr. Frederick Bowyer, the eighty-year-old author of " The Windmill Man," and many other plays for children, has written a new fantasy. It is called " The Bird Man," and has taken twenty years to complete. Old Oriental books and manuscripts, valued at £200,000, have been collected into three public libraries in Constantinople. Previously they were scattered over forty-four libraries, and many were unexamined and unread. The children of Thomas Mann, the famous German novelist, have • inherited some of bis literary talent. Klaus, who has already published a novel and some short stories, and his sister Erika have written an account of their travels round the world.
