ITS BEAUTIFUL MEANING. " Rosemary of Palmerston North" asks for the meaning of Boscmary. Bosemary means " Remembrance," and it is not, as is usually supposed, merely a compound of the two names [lose and Mary, but a quite separate and distinct title. We are told it belongs to that pretty section called Flower Names, and means " Fidelity in Love." It has yet a third meaning when it is derived from the Latin word " Rosmarinus" —" Sea-Dew," so that the lucky girl who bears this name may take her choice. In olden tinies Rosemary was always included in the bride's bouquet and the wedding favour, as it was a plant thought to be closely associated with love, for the following quaint reason : Venus, the Goddess of Love, was born of the Sea-Foam, and Rosemary from the Sea-Dew.
