RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MARATHON CLUB. Members of the 'Marathon Rugby Club will hold a practice on No. 4 area at the .Show Grounds this afternoon. New members arc requested to be present.
TAKAPUNA CLUB. The adjourned annual meeting of the Takapuna Rugby Football Club was held in the presence of a good attendance of players and supporters. Eighteen new members were elected. The club will enter a team in tho junior grade and decide on other entries later. The 'following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. 0. Moller; president, tho Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. .1. W. Williamson ; vice-presidents, samo as last year, with Messrs. Malcolm, Bailey, Gunn, Kingsford and 0. Brinsden; secretary, Mr. A. Gunn; treasurer, Mr. A. Gunn, sen; delegate to Auckland Rugby Union, Mr. A. Wilson; delegate to Junior Management Board, Mr. E. Hunt; committee, Messrs. Hillicar, Veitch, Fountain, Blomficld, W. Wilson, Rotter, Green all, Brown. McKee, Dunn and Iliggins. PIAKO UNION'S AFFAIRS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN ORKESI'ONDEKT. 1 TE AROHA, Friday. A largo and enthusiastic meeting of tho Piako Rugby Union took place in the To Aroha fire station's social hall. Mr. W. C. Kennedy presided over an attendance of nearly 50 members. The balance-sheet showed a credit in the general account of £l3 7s 8d and in the insurance account a credit of £47 17s lid. In his report the president said ho hoped tho standard of play for the coming year would be far in advance of that shown last season. The credit shown was quite satisfactory, yet it must bo remembered good football was a great asset to tho town generally. Tho election of officers resulted as follows .-—Patron, Mr. Macmillan, M.P., Tauranga; president, Dr. Lawrence; vicepresidents, Messrs. J. C. Carroll, J. Hepburn, N. Quirk, S. Davis and Lockyer; secretary, Mr. Gus Walsh; auditor, Mr. Bush; committee, Messrs. K. Landman, J. Hepburn, 0. 11. Jones; J. Heathcotc and Aicken. It was left in tho hands of the incoming committee to appoint delegates and a selector. Dr. W. R. Lawrenco donated a cup for tho senior grade competition this season. TE AROHA HOT SPRINGS CLUB. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA. Friday. At a meeting of the Hot Springs Football Club the election of officers resulted : Patron, Rev. Father Forde; president, Mr. J. C. Carroll; vice-presidents, Messrs. 11. L. Somers, P. Baine, H. Wilcox, N. Quirk, I<\ Halligan, F. S. Board, J. Cocluana, J. Loughlin, J. A. Hepburn; committee, Messrs. W. C. , Kennedy, M. Loveridge, senior, F. Flynn, J. Farlton and P. O'Donoghuo; secretary and treasurer, Mr. M. Loveridge, junior. It .was decided to change (ho club's colours to royal blue and white.
