WELL - KNOWN BRIDGE ACROSS THE MANAWATU RIVER TO BE REPLACED BY A LARGER STRUCTURE. This bridge spans the river in the vieinity of Palmerston North and has served the district for fifty years. It is to be replaced at an early date by a new structure twenty feet wide. The existing bridge is very narrow and vehicles on it are unable to pass each other.
